This year, for the first time, we have a full hostel, made up of local and Namibian learners. The supportive staff, of eight boarder masters and mistresses, three matrons(All cleaning and catering is outsourced to
Feedem) and six kitchen staff, ensure that the residents are well cared for and that they feel at home. At weekends residents are taken on outings to places like the ice rink and the beach. A favourite activity is climbing Lion’s Head. Boarders are also encouraged to participate in school sport and to attend school functions. Playing soccer on the school fields is a favourite pastime and learners have organized themselves into teams which play in their own tournaments. In all, the hostel is a valuable asset. | ||
